Fraud Awareness: Protect Yourself from Scams!

Here are some common frauds and some tips to stay ahead of them!

Phishing Link Fraud Awareness

Scenario: You receive an email from what looks like an e& Money email address saying your account is blocked. The email urges you to click a link and verify your details to reactivate your account.

Outcome: If you click the link, you’re taken to a fake website that asks for your account information. Once you enter your details, fraudsters gain access to your account. They may also request an OTP, which, if shared, gives them complete control of your account.

Fraud Awareness Tip: Be cautious with links in emails. Always check that the website address starts with "https" and ends with "eandmoney.com" to ensure it’s secure. Remember, e& Money is only accessible through our mobile app—never through a website. e& Money will never ask for your OTP via SMS, call, or email.

Unsolicited Call Fraud Awareness

Scenario: You receive a call claiming to be from e& Money, stating your ID is incorrect or expired, and you need to provide updated details.

Outcome: The caller may request an OTP to “update” your details. In reality, this OTP is for accessing your account, and if shared, the fraudster can log in and take control.

Fraud Awareness Tip: e& Money will never ask for personal details or OTPs over a call, email, or SMS. Beware of urgent requests—they’re a common tactic of fraudsters.

Online Purchase Fraud Awareness

Scenario: You search online for a restaurant and end up on a website that looks like the official one.

Outcome: If you enter your card details at checkout on a fake site, the fraudster can use this information to make unauthorized transactions. Some fake sites can even intercept OTPs, allowing fraudsters to complete payments without your direct confirmation.

Fraud Awareness Tip: Always verify the website address and ensure it starts with "https" before entering any payment details. Carefully read OTP or transaction messages from your bank—confirm the amount and merchant name to ensure it’s accurate.

Additional Info: e& Money only processes secure transactions that require OTP verification for your protection.
